The interactive map below shows our current prediction for the stellar occulation by (617) Patroclus on 2019 May 26 UT. The prediction is based on a Gaia DR2 position for the star and the v20181128184441 orbit estimate for Patroclus.
Patroclus is part of a binary, but we have not plotted both components yet. The ground-track will be updated before the event.
Geocentric mid-time of the event is 02:39:56 UT. Star position is RA 12:41:16.6, Dec +09:24:16 (J2000), and its magnitude is 13.22. Patroclus is moving at 10 km/s with respect to the star and its diameter is estimated to be 127 km, so central chords are expected to last 13 seconds.
