Webinar: Chasing Shadows - Using Stellar Occultations to Study the Outer Solar System
May 04, 2023 - Drs. Marc Buie and John Keller discuss a unique citizen science network known as RECON that involves rural high schools from Yuma, Arizona up through British Columbia to study outer solar system objects through occultations. They also discuss how occultations support the NASA Lucy mission and how to potentially become more involved. The NASA SciAct project titled “Science Through Shadow” will include flat screen and full dome videos on the science of eclipses, occultations, and transits for use in classrooms, planetariums, and libraries around the US.
