Polymele Occultation 2026-04-25 (G* = 14.9)

The interactive map below shows our current prediction for the occultation by (15094) Polymele on 2026 April 25 UT. The prediction is based on a Gaia eDR3 position for the star, corrected for parallax and proper motion, and the v20230505203131 orbit estimate for Polymele, which is derived from polymele_20230214a.bsp. This ephemeris has a 1-sigma crosstrack uncertainty of 9.5 km and a 1-sigma downtrack uncertainty of 1.3 sec for this event.

The geocentric mid-time of the event is 04:06:47.9 UT. The J2000 star position is RA 13:26:33.6 (13.4426733), Dec -01:11:55 (-1.198483), and its magnitude is 14.33. Polymele is moving at 17.2 km/s with respect to the star and its diameter is estimated to be 20.0 km, so central chords are expected to last 1.2 seconds.

Of-date coordinates for the target star on event night are RA 13:27:54.8 (13.4652222), Dec -01:20:04 (-1.334444).
